When you press the start button on your tumble dryer and hear a humming noise coming from the engine area, it's still not time to panic. Yes, it could be a faulty motor, but it is possible that the centrifugal switch of the motor is hung.
A centrifugal dryer switch uses centrifugal force to open and close contacts in most dryer motors. When a dryer motor accelerates, the weights on the dryer motor slide out, taking pressure off the plunger on the centrifugal switch.
This allows the switch to open the contacts to the initial windings and close the heavy-duty contacts for the dryer heater.
Sometimes when a tumble dryer's motor is covered in dust, the weights hang out. The powder prevents the weights from putting pressure on the plunger of the centrifugal switch, closing the contacts to the starting winding. A tumble dryer motor cannot start with just the windings, so it will buzz. Hold down the start button long enough and it will burn the windings.
Another big problem with dust that causes the centrifugal switch to hang is that the dryer heater contacts are closed. If the timer is moved from the off position to normal drying, the heater will energize with the dryer without turning and the motor will not run. This is a fire hazard.
So how do you fix a hanging centrifugal switch in a tumble dryer?
It is actually very easy to clean a centrifugal switch in a tumble dryer. Disconnect the dryer from the electrical supply and gain access to the dryer motor. You may be lucky and have a blind access panel at the back of the dryer just behind the removable motor. The access panel is generally held in place by two screws. The good news is that it is not necessary to remove the motor from the dryer to clean the centrifugal switch. Take a vacuum cleaner that blows and completely removes dust from the motor. Return to the regular vacuum cleaner and wipe off all lint in the dryer base area. Use your fingers to slide the weights back and forth on the dryer shaft, making sure not to hit the springs. DO NOT lubricate this area as this will only attract more dust.

Refrigerator Water Dispenser Not Working
This item is a basic DIY look at a non-water dispensing refrigerator water dispenser. It is not an all-inclusive step-by-step diagnostic procedure because in this case, it is best to leave it to a professional.
If your refrigerator's water dispenser doesn't work, there are a couple of things to consider. If your ice machine is making ice, then you know that the problem is not the water supply to the refrigerator. If there was a restriction in the water line between the refrigerator and the water supply line, the ice maker could not make ice.
The water valve supplying water to the side of the water dispenser may be restricted, however, the chances of only that side being restricted are quite low. The first thing to check before you even consider the water valve on the water dispenser is the condition of the water tank inside the fresh food section. Many people are unaware that to get cold water through the water dispenser on the freezer door there must be a water tank in the fresh food section.
This tank is usually located low behind the vegetable drawers because the bottom of the fresh food section is always the coldest. And by the way, this is why the first glass of water you get from the water dispenser is generally not that cold. The waterline has to run out of the refrigerator so it doesn't freeze and out of the freezer door. There is enough water in that line to fill a glass. So if you really want cold water, always pour the first glass. The problem with the water tank located in the fresh food section is that it tends to freeze.
And if the water freezes, there is no way the water supply can pass. If you're not in a hurry, you can find out if this is the problem by placing a temperature gauge in one of the fruit and vegetable drawers and leaving it overnight. If the temperature is low, around 32 degrees, then perhaps all you have to do is warm up the fresh food section a bit to solve the problem. Once you set the controls for warmer temperature, it will take at least 24 hours for the tank to defrost if it has chunks of ice.
If you are sure that the tank is not the problem, you will need to take out the refrigerator and access the water valve that supplies water to the water dispenser. This is where you are going to need an assistant. Once you gain access to the fill valve, you can remove the electrical connections to the valve. It should be a plastic molded connector that slides immediately. With your meter set to voltage, have an assistant press the button on the dispenser to ask for water.
If you read the proper electrical voltage for your model refrigerator, and its waterline is not restricted because it is frozen or otherwise, the valve is probably faulty. However, if you don't read the voltage when your assistant presses the button, you'll probably have to call a professional appliance technician who has experience with your model refrigerator. This is because there are many switches and controls that could be faulty and that are beyond the diagnostic capabilities of most DIY homeowners. Plus, hiring a professional will save you money and hassle in the long run.

Dishwasher Leaking From Bottom Door
If you do enough service in the dishwasher sooner or later, you'll find a dishwasher that appears to be leaking from the bottom with no obvious signs of a problem.
There are many things that will cause a dishwasher to lose water and most of them are quite obvious. However, in this article, we will discuss a particular cause that is not so obvious.
Make sure you don't have an excess noise problem with the dishwasher. A dishwasher that overestimates will flood the foam at the bottom of the door along with plenty of water. To learn more about a dishwasher that is oversized, click here
Before you begin to troubleshoot a bottom leaking dishwasher, find out how long the dishwasher has been in this location. Was the dishwasher moved for any particular reason or just installed?
Sometimes, when a dishwasher is not installed properly, it could be slightly to one side of the cabinet opening. It won't be obvious until you try to slowly close the door. If the door contacts the cabinet on both sides, there is a good chance that the gasket in that area will not seal properly. When that happens, the water will bypass the gasket and run to the bottom of the dishwasher, making most people think the problem is in the pump area.
The latches on the dishwasher doors are not as strong and the gaskets on the dishwashers are not very abundant. Therefore, the slightest pull on the dishwasher door from the cabinet could cause it to flex out of the square and drip.

What automatic door for my garage?
What automatic door for my garage?
The choice of a particular type of automatic garage door depends on several parameters: the space available inside and outside the garage, the size of your car, and your budget. A short guide to help you choose.
The garage's door
The upper garage door is made of a large panel (the platform) that is changed to be placed parallel to the ceiling. The deck is made of wood (oak or exotic wood, generally), corrugated steel with anti-corrosion (sometimes including thermal insulation), or sometimes reinforced with PVC with a metallic structure. This type of door is generally sold without a motor and with a single wall. There are two types of garage doors.A counterweight:
swing door with a counterweight system built into the chassis without the need for guide rails. This system requires the volume inside the garage. The other balancing arm called "overwhelming" panel switches with guide rails. It extends to the outside of the garage when opening or closing, making it a very suitable system along public roads. This is a solid door and cheaper than others, this is the biggest advantage of this door. While the downside is that they are available in a limited variety of sizes, designs, and finishes.
The sectional garage door.
This door consists of several hinged panels. It works like a large roller shutter, sliding closer to the wall or ceiling. It is very suitable for the installation of an external motor. It is made of wood or steel associated with fiberglass or PVC. It usually has a double steel wall filled with polyurethane foam. There are two types of sectional garage doors: one moves to the ceiling via vertical and horizontal tracks. While in another, lateral: the panels are suspended from a track from the ceiling and slide down a slide on the ground). Side doors should release one of the garage walls.
Advantages:
They are ideal for small spaces. They come in all sizes, even larger. They are resistant to forced entry and easy to motorize. Sometimes you can attach your sectional garage door to your front door by choosing from the same manufacturer. The gaskets between the cover panels help prevent heat loss and pinching. Although the only disadvantages are that it is necessary to choose a good quality of materials and workmanship. They are more expensive than overhead doors.Rolling garage door
The roll-up garage door is made of aluminum strips stapled together. She rolled into a box on top. It can be easily motorized.Advantages: it is the system that offers the best space-saving. It is quiet inside the garage. Cons: The door cannot be integrated. Its price is high. They exist only in aluminum.
The safety requirements of automatic garage doors.
Automatic garage doors must meet essential safety requirements to prevent accidents such as pinching or crushing a person. Automatic garage doors cannot be sold unless they are CE marked. It establishes a presumption of conformity with the requirements of NF EN 13241-1 and an independent body has verified the manufacturer's compliance.Additionally, when installed, automatic garage doors must meet the safety requirements set forth by the building and housing code, particularly regarding system shutdown and routine maintenance.
Additional advice for garage renovation.
During the Home renovation in Lahore, it is possible to install a manually operated solar powered garage door. This energy is recovered by a photovoltaic cell located above the garage door and is stored in batteries to operate. We can equip any solar powered garage door, but it is specially designed for garages that are not connected to the grid. You can read our other informative article "Refrigerator Maintenance for Mother's Day".

Make Thanksgiving Safe Around Your Home
As you prepare for Thanksgiving, you need to make sure that visitors can enjoy themselves. This means there should be enough food, there should be places for everyone to relax after the big meal, either indoors or outdoors, and you should look around your home to make sure everything is in tip-top condition to prevent older people and young children, and everyone in between, since the fall. When you look at something every day, you soon forget that it is out of place or needs repair; it just blends in with the surroundings, but your guests may notice it or they may harm someone.
One of the things that people should do to prepare their home for the guests is to order, both inside and outside. That loose stone you fixed last month? Now would be a good time to finally go down the stairs. Visiting children can give in to temptation and end up falling off the ladder or ceiling. Then get ready for toddlers and babies by installing corner protectors and outlet covers.
If older people come, look for rugs that pile up easily and can cause an older person to trip. Also, look around you and replace the bulbs that have not already done so. If there are things hindering travel modes, move them. The footrest that your own family is used to being in one place may not be something that Grandma is used to.
Finally, with a larger group of people visiting, if you haven't already, put new batteries in all the fire extinguishers. You may think that fires will only start in the kitchen or where the fireplace is, but you are wrong. Help protect your guests and everyone will have a great time eating until they are full and watching soccer. If you need help repairing an appliance before your guests come, call Appliance Repair Services and that will be an important thing to check off your list.

Installing a Light Fixture
Installing a Light Fixture
Installing a light fixture is fairly simple if the procedure below is followed.Switch
1. Turn off power
Turn on the light switch for the fixture to be replaced. Go to the breaker or fuse box and turn off the power to the light. If you do not know which breaker or fuse controls the light, try each one individually until the light turns off. Next, turn off the light switch just in case someone accidentally turns the power back on at the circuit box Installing a Light Switch.
2. Remove the cover plate
Remove the fasteners from the light fixture plate covering the electric box and carefully lower the fixture. While holding the fixture with one hand, disconnect the ground wire which is usually either a green wire or a bare copper wire. Next, unscrew the two-wire caps securing the hot and neutral wires and separate the wires.
3. Prepare for the new fixture
Install the fastener plate that came with the new light fixture to the electric box. Straighten the ends of the two electrical wires so you will not have a problem attaching them to the fixture wires.
4. Install new light fixture
I suggest having someone hold the light fixture while you fasten the wires and secure it to the electric box. Remove approximately three-quarters of an inch of insulation from the ends of both of the fixture wires. It doesn’t matter which wire you attach to the box wires other than the ground wire. Twist each of the wires to the wires in the box and then attach the wire caps. Secure the ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire in the box. Carefully insert the wires into the box and attach the fixture cover being careful that no wires are pinched beneath the cover.
